Well, the good news is that there are natural remedies that can help in warding off that pesky cold, and chances are you have most of these items already in your home. 1. Garlic

A few ways to put a little more garlic in your life include purchasing a press and adding a teaspoon or so to chicken or vegetable broth, or add to hot water with fresh ginger and honey and sip it like a tea
